What If… The Feast Never Came into My Life?

Episode 105 – Monday, November 14th, 2016 (7258)

The Feast is where the happy servants, the atmosphere, the love, the worship songs, the powerful speakers and preachers, and the friendship that I have right now are present. That’s why it is called the happiest place on earth. We can never miss the Declaration of Abundance and then Thy Word, and the preacher starts to share the talk and the topic of the series that lasts up to four weeks. While we’re singing, we raise our hands then lift up our Novena to God’s Love booklet where we write down our dreams and wishes. And before we leave, we give our prayers on the Love Offering to have more blessings and abundance from the Lord. Sometimes after the Feast, we join the Light Groups especially the Singles Ministry (a sort of “singles”) and all other ministries that we can join to serve just like I am serving for Media Ministry (LCD Operator). And we can’t miss without attending special and big events such as Kerygma Lenten Recollection (KLR) which is held every holy week, the retreats, seminars such as Jesus Encounter, and the biggest inspirational event – Kerygma Conference (KCON) which will be held on its 10th year this November. Of course, we love God, and we love to hear the powerful messages from its founder, Bro. Bo Sanchez, and the builders elsewhere all over the country and some parts of the world.

I’m so glad that I’ve been a part of the Feast family here at Laguna led by the senior builder, Bro. Jon Escoto, and other builders such as Bro. Dreus Cosio (SM Santa Rosa) and Bro. Dwight Castillo (Pacita). But because this episode is all about my “alternate” timeline, I have asked you something. What if… the Feast never came into my life? Hmmmm… this will be a different story.

feast review 2015

The Feast is a Catholic Gathering of the Light of Jesus Family founded by Bro. Bo Sanchez. And who’s Bro. Bo? He is a Catholic lay preacher, a bestselling author, a public speaker and motivator, and of course, a servant of God. But when I started to attend and to serve at The Feast? Well, that was in March 2013 when my former college classmate (just called him royalprince… ayyy… again) encouraged me supposedly to have our summer outing in Majayjay, Laguna with other former college classmates in holy week. But most of them were stuck in work, so they couldn’t have any vacation leave during holy week despite of holiday (most corporate companies have no holiday even holy week; that’s too bad for the workers like us). Even though I already filed my vacation leave for holy week, this made me disappointed. However, instead of taking summer outing which was absolutely cancelled, royalprince just invited me with some of my former college classmates (including my former crush named “Chubby”) in a recollection somewhere in Paseo de Santa Rosa. When I entered the place, I had no idea why I was there together with other people who were worshipping the Lord. But until, I realized that, since it was holy week, I just needed to retreat and reshape from the past mistakes that I did before. This was the start of my curiosity about The Feast thru the event called Kerygma Lenten Recollection (KLR).

Since the day after attending KLR for my first time, I met new friends such as Nikki, Yani, Ralph, and many others. However, I had not attended the regular Feast session until July 2013 when I attended Feast Biñan in Central Mall led by Bro. Dreus Cosio who had his slightly long haircut back then. And the rest is history. I later joined a ministry called Media Ministry where I operated for LCD flashing PowerPoint presentations and worship song lyrics. Then, I attended and served for the big Kerygma events such as KLR (in 2014 and 2015) and KCON (in 2015).

I’ve been attending and serving at The Feast for more than three years, and I’ve met many new friends from its first location in Central Mall Biñan until its relocation in SM City Santa Rosa and other Feast locations in Laguna and south of Metro Manila. It’s really fun because I’ve learned a lot of lessons from the teachings of the Lord and in the Bible, not only spiritually, but financially and physically. That’s what in my current life right now, thanks to The Feast. But I just imagine what if it was never come into my life in 2013? What if my former college classmate never invited me to introduce The Feast? Well, I’ll explain about my alternate scenario where it would not be existed in my life.

In My Alternate Timeline

I would face a lot of possible scenarios if ever The Feast didn’t come to me and in my life. There are the lists:

In My Current Timeline
(Reality/Already Happened)
In My Alternate Timeline/Scenario
(If The Feast was never introduced)
  • I attended Kerygma Lenten Recollection (KLR) in March 2013 for the first time with some of my former college classmates after the cancellation of summer outing.
  • If the summer outing with them was never cancelled, I would never know about KLR and The Feast. Summer bonding in Majayjay, Laguna would be fun (supposedly).
  • I met many new friends right after KLR such as Nikki, Yani, Ralph, Earl and later on such as Gee, Sis Tess, Che, Janine, etc.
  • They would be unknown for me, or I might meet one of them in later years. If ever they didn’t become my friends, the number of my friends might be decreased or not so many as what I have right now (in my current timeline).
  • I’ve met the builders/preachers in Feast Laguna such as Bro. Jon, Bro. Dreus, and Bro. Dwight.
  • I would never know who they are.
  • I first attended Feast Biñan – Central Mall which was later relocated into Feast SM Santa Rosa.
  • I would never know that place, or simply I just walked around inside.
  • When I was jobless (second half of 2013), I joined Media Ministry to operate for LCD.
  • I would become bored the time when I was jobless.
  • I’ve attended bigger events such as KLR and Kerygma Conference (KCON) where I also got to serve for Media.
  • I would never know about these.
  • I’ve joined (in rarest times) Light Groups mostly Singles Ministry where a bunch of friends share their personal stories and to meet some new friends.
  • I would never know about the groups. I would never meet the person who almost became my crush after the discovery that she has already a boyfriend.
  • I have explored some Feast areas to attend such as Pacita, Technopark Hotel, Festival Mall Alabang, and Alabang Town Center.
  • I would never know about these locations (in fact, I had already noticed Feast Alabang in Festival Mall before when I walked thru the mall going to (and from) my work in Alabang around 2011 or 2012, but I had no idea what was inside until I first attended there in December 2013).
  • I’ve already read some books written by Bro. Bo Sanchez.
  • I would read other books or simply… I didn’t read any books except for facts and information such as almanacs.
  • I’ve collected and kept Feast Bulletins (mostly from Feast Biñan/SM Sta. Rosa) and leaflets about the talk series at my shelves.
  • These would never be existed on my shelves.
  • I’ve also collected T-shirts from The Feast such as KLR, Media Ministry and KCON.
  • These would never be placed with my other clothes.
  • I’ve played worship songs mostly on my phone (MP3 player).
  • I would just play ordinary songs (rock, love, smooth, RnB, etc.) and no worship songs.
  • I’ve visited St. Clare Monastery in Cabuyao, Laguna every other Saturday morning using my bicycle (for biking exercise) to pray for my dreams and to have some relaxation.
  • I would not know that place every time I took for biking.
  • For other times, I’ve attended holy mass (mostly before The Feast except SM Sta. Rosa) and getting closer to God.
  • I would be “unchurched” because I rarely attended holy mass at the local church.
  • The time when I was from a heartbroken relationship (especially after the end of long distance relationship (LDR)), some of my friends from The Feast healed me with their advices, support and encouragement to be strong.
  • I would be always down and depressed worse than what I’m in my current timeline.

If The Feast didn’t come to me, my present life would be just the same as what I had before it came in 2013. It might be boring, just ordinary, or probably my current friends might be the same as my past friends before. But thankfully, it came to change my life from being “unchurched” to getting closer with God. I don’t think this was the turning point for me to change my lifestyle and habit as what I am right now. Well, that’s my topic on this episode. Oh by the way, began last October 30, Feast SM Santa Rosa is now holding two sessions! The first session is at 9 in the morning, and the second one is at 11 am at Cinema 1 of SM City Santa Rosa., and the Feast builder is Bro. Dreus Cosio. Here at The Feast, You’re Home!

KCON 2016: Shall not attend?

The Kerygma Conference 2016: Forward is just around the corner. It will be held on November 17-20 at SMX Convention Center and Mall of Asia Area in Pasay City. Unfortunately, I probably can’t go there to attend classes led by the motivational and spiritual speakers and the Grand Feast. The reason is because of financial problems that I’ve experienced right now (thanks to the “parasite” person who did this so badly to me last August). And because it is a four-day event and slightly far from Santa Rosa, Laguna to Pasay (about 40 kilometers or 25 miles apart), there will be a lot of expenses like commuting thru public transportation, eating at the fastfoods or restaurants at Mall of Asia (bringing lunch at the convention and the arena is strictly prohibited), and if necessary, the Kerygma merchandise such as books, T-shirts, pins, etc. Not only that, security is another reason why I can’t go to attend the event (crowded people, of course, and the “unsafe” commuting going to the destination most especially from Buendia area).

Even though I already got a ticket and the classes that I chose, it’s so sad for me after I decided to not go to attend classes and the Grand Feast because of financial problems. Last year, I was able to serve (for Media) and to attend this event for the first time throughout the weekend (thanks to APEC Summit which affected the KCON from a four-day event into two). But this year, it will be difficult for me because of facing financial trouble and also the time (I might go for my work instead on the first and second day of KCON). Damn! The financial situation has ruined my excitement to attend KCON 2016. Oh well, I feel regrets, but that’s okay. I’ll push it for next year as I’ll start to save my time and my finances to grow abundantly. And for those who are already excited this coming Thursday, well I hope you’ll enjoy and having fun! And be safe to travel going there!
